SETTING
The FoC system can be modified to support any setting. The core rules system and character creator work around selecting one of the game’s settings to configure which items/magic/creatures will be available in the world.
The Varia world is the default available setting with more time periods and fantasy worlds to be adapted to FoC in the future. When selecting a world for your campaign, the character creator and GM tools switch to use the available technology, magic and creatures that inhabit that world.
If you are a GM, don’t let that deter you from homebrewing your own world and setting for this system. A game can be run with physical character sheets or by just limiting some of the features of the character creator.
Varia
Varia is currently the default setting to run a game with. It can be briefly summarised as:
- Firearms are the primary form of weaponry
- Technology is roughly equivalent to the early 1800s in europe with some more advanced weapons available
- The magic system allows for impossibly huge machines, airships and highly effective meele weapons to also exist as practical element of the world
- The world is populated with strange, dangerous and magical creatures that threaten the edges of civilization. There are great expanses of wilderness broken up by vast city states, fortresses, outposts and hideouts constantly battling off the dangers
